CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The driver of a pickup truck caused the death of a Corpus Christi pedestrian on Monday.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 in the evening at the intersection of Staples Street and Saratoga Boulevard. The pedestrian, 23 year-old Caleb Fuentes, was not using a crosswalk when he was struck by the driver of the pickup truck. The driver remained at the scene after the incident and cooperated with police.
Authorities rushed Fuentes to the Bay Area Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash but no charges have been brought against the driver at this time.
