SAN ANTONIO, TX – On Monday afternoon, a Mercedes-Benz broke down in a traffic lane on Interstate 10 and caused a collision with two other vehicles.
The San Antonio Police Department reports that a 28-year-old man was driving his gray 2010 Mercedes-Benz at approximately 3:56 p.m. on May 11. The vehicle malfunctioned and then came to halt on the highway just before Northwest Parkway.
A 28-year-old man in a white 2010 Ford and a 21-year-old man in a red 2018 Ford were driving behind the Mercedes on the highway. When the Mercedes suddenly came to a stop, the two drivers could not brake fast enough to avoid an accident.
The 2010 Ford’s front bumper crashed into the back of the Mercedes. The left and right front corners of the 2018 Ford hit the Mercedes and the 2010 Ford. A police officer on the scene stated that the Mercedes and the 2010 Ford sustained moderate damage. However, the 2018 Ford had much more significant damage because of the two different impact points. All three vehicles required a tow truck to remove them from the scene.
The driver in the 2018 Ford sustained injuries from the accident, but the police have not released any additional information about his condition. No other drivers or passengers were injured in the crash.
