CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – According to Kris 6 News, one person died and one person was rescued from the water early Friday morning when their car crashed into Oso Bay.
The local police department responded to a call about 2:30 a.m. and found the car upside down and partially submerged. An eyewitness stated that the car went airborne before landing in the water.
Officials were able to get a female occupant, a minor, out from the car alive. She was transported to a local hospital, but there is no word yet on the extent of her injuries.
A second occupant died at the scene. It is not yet known if there were any other people in the vehicle.
Officials were able to get the car out of the water at about 5 a.m.
The investigation is still ongoing.
