SAN ANTONIO, TX – KTSA News reports that a San Antonio police officer is recovering after a serious accident on Monday morning.
SAPD received a call about an accident involving an officer about 3 a.m.
Officers arrived to find Abagail Macias’ patrol vehicle had struck a utility pole near the intersection of FM 1604 and Lockhill Selma Road. The vehicle was in the median and severely damaged. It then caught fire with Macias still inside.
An officer pulled her from her car and the fire was put out. Macias was transported to a local hospital. Her injuries included a broken leg.
The cause of the accident is still undetermined. Authorities are reviewing dash cam footage as part of their investigation.
