Bystander helps rescue family after they crashed into a ravine

KINGSVILLE, TX – According to KIIITV, a bystander helped rescue a family after they crashed into a ravine along the San Fernando Creek.

The crash took place on Highway 77 near Sage Road on Wednesday afternoon. The family’s truck hydroplaned, left the roadway, and fell into the ravine. A bystander, Ramon Moya, helped free two children trapped inside the vehicle, lifting them to responding police officers.

The children’s mother, Karina Garza, sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover. The children were uninjured in the crash, a fact the Kingsville police chief attributes to Garza’s correct use of child safety seats.
