SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office have identified the victim in a previously reported fatal North Side hit-and-run last Thursday.
According to KSAT, the incident occurred at about 6:40 a.m within the 10300 block of Sahara Drive near the intersection with San Pedro Avenue.
Police say 36-year-old Jose Zavala-Diaz was loading plumbing equipment into a work vehicle when he and another individual were struck by an SUV at a high rate of speed. The driver of the SUV then immediately sped down San Pedro Ave.
Zavala-Diaz died from his injuries at the hospital a short time later. The other person struck by the vehicle is recovering with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are continuing their search for the driver responsible for the deadly crash.
