SCHERTZ, TX – A pedestrian was killed and two other individuals rushed to the hospital following a collision on I-35 Sunday morning.
According to KSAT, the crash occurred at about 5:11 a.m. within the 17600 block of I-35.
Responding officers say the driver of a dark-colored SUV struck a man who was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of the freeway. A Suzuki SUV, in an attempt to avoid hitting the man a second time, veered to the side and rolled over.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Both occupants in the Suzuki were hospitalized in unknown conditions.
The driver of the dark-colored SUV fled the scene of the crash before police arrived. They are expected to face charges once located.
