BENAVIDES, TX – Two people are dead after a van carrying seven undocumented immigrants crashed in Benavides, KIII TV reports.
The van was driving north on Highway 359 when wet road caused it to hydroplane around 6 p.m.
As the vehicle spun out of control, it crashed through a fence and rolled over several time.
Two passengers died at the scene. Three other victims were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. Authorities believe two others fled the scene on foot.
