NORTH ALAMO, TX – An SUV fatally collided with a 19-year-old pedestrian in North Alamo on Saturday, Valley Central reports.
Edith Yacibe Garza, 35, was driving a brown SUV westbound on Eldora Rd when she struck Ofelia Merlene Proa, 19, who was walking near the roadway.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident around 2 a.m. They transported Proa to a nearby hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Garza initially fled the scene but turned herself in a some time later.
