CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene of a fatal crash on the 4330 block of South Padre Island Drive Saturday, Corpus Christa Cronica reports.
Jesse Garza was driving a Buick occupied by three other people when he collided with a palm tree around 2 a.m. The occupants of the car became trapped inside and it took crews 30 minutes to extricate them. Garza died at the scene.
The remaining three occupants were taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
