2 injured when brakes on family’s SUV fail in SA hotel’s parking lot

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A woman and her child were injured yesterday afternoon when the brakes on their family’s SUV failed in a hotel parking lot on the city’s north side, causing it to plummet down a nearby embankment.

KSAT reports that the family of four’s SUV was backing out of a parking spot at an extended stay hotel near US 281 and Evans Road when its brakes failed. The vehicle subsequently crashed through a wrought iron fence, went down an embankment, and overturned onto its side.

The woman’s hip was injured, while her five-year-old son suffered a cut to his head. Emergency responders took them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
