SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police arrested the father who abandoned his daughter following a rollover crash on I-10 near Crossroads Blvd Tuesday.
According to Fox San Antonio, the father and uncle of the 5-year-old girl were driving her to school when the rollover crash happened. The girl’s father, Rene Aguilar-Orellana, handed the girl to a bystander and fled the scene following the wreck.
First responders transported the girl to an area hospital with mild injuries.
Police located Aguilar-Orellana in the parking lot on the 3800 block of Fredericksburg. He has been charged with child endangerment, failure to stop and render aid, and child abandonment. Officers found the child’s uncle Omar Edwin Rivera at his job on West Ave and charged him with failure to stop and render aid.
It is unclear why the two men abandoned the girl.
