SAN ANTONIO, TX – According to News 4, a driver fatally struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the road on the 5200 block of De Zavala Rd Saturday.
A driver was stopped at a stoplight. When the light turned green, the driver struck Rickey Ward, 64, as he was crossing the street with a cane outside of a marked crosswalk.
The driver called 911 and remained at the crash site until first responders arrived. They pronounced Ward dead at the scene of the accident.
Police did not charge the driver for the crash.
