SAN ANTONIO, TX – The driver of an 18-wheeler crashed his vehicle in the early hours of Friday, April 10. The vehicle contained 45,000 pounds of grapes, which shifted as the driver entered Finesilver Curve at high speeds. The change in weight caused the vehicle to overturn on the Interstate 35 North exchange to Interstate 10 West.
The driver of the truck was unharmed in the accident, but police officers had to close the highway ramp for several hours while cleaning up the accident. The San Antonio Police Department believes the driver’s high speed entering the curve was the primary cause of the accident.
