HOUSTON, TX – Two people are dead and three others are hurt after a driver fleeing police collided with a tree at Imperial Valley Dr and Fairview Park Dr Wendesday.
According to News 4, the incident began when six men carjacked a 17-year-old boy at gunpoint while washing his Jeep at a car wash.
Officers found the Jeep and attempted to pull it over when the suspects fled and led police on a short chase before crashing into a tree at around 10 p.m.
Rescue crews pronounced two people dead at the scene of the accident and transported three others to an area hospital. Two of the three suspects who were hospitalized were in critical condition.
Deputies found a pistol matching the description the carjack victim gave in a backpack inside the Jeep.
Authorities are on the lookout for a sixth suspect who drove the five carjackers to the car wash.
