EDINBURG, TX – Valley Central reports that an impaired hit-and-run driver fatally collided head-on with another vehicle on the 400 block of E Trenton Rd Saturday.
The 29-year-old pickup truck driver was driving west on eastbound Trenton Rd when he collided head-on with a Nissan Sentra around 2:30 a.m.
The pickup truck driver fled the scene following the collision and abandoned his vehicle. Officers eventually located him and took him into custody.
First responders transported the driver of the Nissan Sentra to an area hospital, where they later died. In addition to the driver, crews took two other occupants of the Sentra to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe impairment was a factor in the wreck.
