BROWNSVILLE, TX – A 71-year-old man crashed his car on Monday when he was backing out his vehicle and hit a car that was behind him.
The Brownsville Police Department reports that the man backed his white 1998 Ford into a gold 2004 Hyundai on May 4 at approximately 9:02 a.m. The accident occurred at 2913 Bluebonnet Drive near Media Luna Road.
As a result of the accident, the Ford sustained minimal damage to the back-right bumper. The Hyundai also sustained minimal damage to the front-right bumper. Both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene of the accident, without tow-truck assistance.
According to My Accident, neither the 61-year-old Hyundai driver nor the 71-year-old Ford driver was injured in the accident.
A police officer on the scene determined that the Ford’s driver was at-fault in the accident because he backed-up at an unsafe time.
