KERRVILLE, TX – A pickup truck collided head-on with a Ford Fiesta, while driving over 100 miles per hour on Bear Creek Road. The impact was so severe that the pickup truck spiraled backwards down the hill, landing 200 feet from the site of the crash. The accident occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, according to the Hill Country Community Journal.
A San Antonio Fire Department medic found the woman driving the Ford Fiesta in the middle of the street, after she escaped through a window in her vehicle. An ambulance transported the woman to Peterson Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.
Police officers identified the driver of the pickup truck as a 20-year-old man with two female teenagers in the passenger seats. The driver and the passengers in the truck sustained minor injuries, but they did not require emergency medical care.
The police believe the pickup truck was speeding in an attempt to get airborne, while going over the top of the hill. A Texas sheriff stated that it was a “miracle” that the accident did not result in any fatalities.
