SAN ANTONIO, TX – A woman in her 70’s was struck and killed by an alleged impaired driver in the parking lot of The Montecito Apartments on Friday night, Fox San Antonio reports.
According to investigators, the victim and the suspect, a 65-year-old man, had gone out for drinks earlier that evening. At around 10:15 p.m., he dropped her off at the apartment complex. He somehow struck her with his car as he was backing out of the parking space. The details on what exactly happened are not clear at this time.
Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene. He was arrested for DUI.
The investigation is ongoing and police may charge the driver with additional offenses.
