CONVERSE, TX – According to NEWS4SA, a man died in a head-on collision after attempting to pass slower traffic Tuesday afternoon.
Converse police said witnesses reported a man driving erratically in the northbound lanes of Farm-to-Market Road 1516 near Binz-Engleman Road. Witnesses claim the driver entered the southbound lanes of FM 1516 in an attempt to pass slower drivers in the northbound lanes.
The driver of the vehicle then collided head-on with another vehicle traveling southbound, according to witnesses. The driver of the car attempting to pass other vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers in the vehicle he struck were hospitalized, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
