Officials ID Man Killed in San Antonio Head-On Crash; Suspect Charged

SAN ANTONIO, TX – According to KSAT, officials have identified the man killed in a head-on collision early Saturday, and a suspect has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man as Gabriel Gallegos, 44. While driving eastbound on Loop 1604 near Lockhill Selma Road, Gallegos was hit head-on by a Mercedes-Benz sedan driven by Maria Campos-Jimenez, 20, around 2 a.m., according to San Antonio police.

Police say she was intoxicated and was driving the wrong way.

Campos-Jimenez has been charged with intoxication manslaughter, according to online jail records. She was released from jail after posting a $75,000 bond.
