EDINBURG, TX -A rollover crash took the lives of two people on US 281 near FM 490 Friday, according to KRGV.
The vehicle occupied by the victims was attempting to flee from Border Patrol when the driver lost control and it rolled over.
First responders pronounced Roman Garza, 50, dead at the scene of the accident. An unidentified woman was ejected from the vehicle and pinned underneath the car during the crash. She also died at the scene. Her identity will be released once her next of kin has been notified.
In addition to the two fatalities, five other people in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital by first responders.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
