BROWNSVILLE, TX – A driver crashed their vehicle on Wednesday while speeding on Olmito North Road
The Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) reported that the accident occurred at 12:58 p.m. on May 6. An 18-year-old man in a blue 2000 Ford was driving at high speeds when he crashed his car near the intersection of Olmito North Road and Henderson Road.
An officer on the scene stated that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The Ford sustained significant damage to the back right bumper and the right side of the car when the vehicle crashed into a roadway obstacle at an angle. The car was unable to drive away from the accident due to extensive damage. A tow truck had to remove the vehicle from the scene.
The police report that, in addition to the 18-year-old driver, a 19-year-old woman was riding in the front passenger seat at the time of the accident. Neither the driver nor the passenger sustained injuries in the accident.
At this time, the TxDPS believes that speed was the primary cause of the accident.
