LOPEZVILLE, TX – Two Texas state troopers crashed into an SUV at approximately 8:46 p.m. on Thursday, April 16. The state troopers were driving in two separate vehicles on their way to the scene of another accident when they crashed into a woman’s black SUV. The SUV was parked in the street on Minnesota Road near Veterans Boulevard. KRGV reports that the street was poorly lit, which made the black vehicle difficult to see.
The trooper in the lead vehicle stopped before hitting the car, but the second trooper could not stop quickly enough to avoid an accident. The second trooper’s car rear-ended the first trooper’s vehicle, which caused them both collide with the SUV.
The state troopers and the owner of the SUV were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The troopers both sustained minor injuries from the crash, but police have released no information about the injuries sustained by the woman.
