SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police officers have arrested a 31-year-old man suspected of hitting and killing a pedestrian. In early April 2020, a pickup truck hit a 26-year-old woman named Yvonne Arias, who was walking on a crosswalk on Roosevelt Avenue. The driver fled the scene, but witnesses reported seeing a grey 2005 Dodge truck involved in the accident. Police pronounced Arias dead when they arrived on the scene.
On April 11, 2020, police arrested a man named Israel Lopez, whose truck matched the description of the vehicle at the scene. The truck also showed signs of damage to the hood from the impact. Lopez was charged with failure to stop and provide aid to Arias.
