CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – An elderly woman died after she crashed head-on into another vehicle on the 7700 block of South Padre Island Dr on October 1, KIII-TV reports.
An 83-year-old woman was driving a Honda CRV the wrong way on South Padre Island when she collided with a 28-year-old male driving Dodge Ram around 12:45 a.m. The woman died upon impact.
Following the collision, the Dodge Ram caught on fire. The male driver exited the vehicle before the fire started.
Rescue crews transported the male to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident is under investigation by the Corpus Christi Police Department.
